Short answer
Switching telecom provider can happen without downtime because number porting in Belgium takes place during a short scheduled switchover, usually just a few minutes per number. You keep your numbers, we handle the cancellation with your current provider and the porting itself. What we need: your company registration number, and per line the current mobile number, the SIM card number (ICCID) and your customer number with the current provider. Larger fleets are migrated in waves, so the main number and the on-call line never switch over at the same time.
What we need beforehand
Porting starts with correct details. If a single field is missing, the outgoing operator will reject the request and you lose days.
- Your company registration number and the legal name of the company.
- Per line: the current mobile number, the SIM card number and your customer number with the current operator.
- The desired end date of the current contract per line.
- A delivery address if physical SIM cards are needed.
Phased instead of all at once
We start with a test group of a few lines. If that goes smoothly, the remaining lines follow in blocks, usually by department or by site. Critical numbers, such as your main line or on-call service, are scheduled outside peak hours.
The number stays active on the old network until the moment of the switchover. As a result, the interruption during porting is limited to a few minutes.
Who does what
We handle the cancellation with your current operator and the porting request on your behalf. You sign a single mandate. During the migration you have one contact person at Netcom who tracks the status of every line.
After the switch
Your lines sit in one overview, you choose the network per line, and changes such as an extra card or a network switch are handled with a single message. If you want to get started even faster, you can also complete activation entirely online.
Frequently asked questions
How long does porting take in Belgium?
A correctly submitted request is usually processed within a few working days. The actual switchover of a number takes a few minutes.
Do I need to cancel my current contract myself first?
No, we do that. You sign one document and we handle cancellation and porting with your current operator.
Can I start with part of my fleet first?
That's actually the recommended approach. We start with a test group and only expand once everything runs stably.
