How an IoT rollout works with us

  1. 1. Profile per device. We determine the monthly usage, location and whether downtime is acceptable per device type.
  2. 2. Network choice. Fixed locations get the strongest network on site, critical devices get a multi-operator card.
  3. 3. Pool and caps. We set up one data pool with a cap per card, so a faulty device never drives the invoice.
  4. 4. Rollout. Cards or eSIM profiles are delivered numbered, so your installer links them straight to the right device.
  5. 5. Follow-up. Monthly reporting per card and one dedicated contact for blocking and replacements.

Why charging infrastructure needs M2M

A charge point is more than a socket. It logs sessions, opens access for authorised users, sends usage data to a management platform and receives firmware updates. When the connection drops, payment and monitoring stop working.

With an M2M card instead of a standard mobile subscription you only pay for data, share the volume across all charge points and set caps so a faulty device cannot let costs explode. For outage-prone locations you choose a multi-operator card that switches networks automatically.

Frequently asked questions about IoT and M2M

What is the difference between an IoT SIM card and an M2M SIM card?

In practice, none: machine-to-machine is the older term for devices exchanging data without a human, IoT is the broader name for the same principle. At Netcom both run on the same data-only cards with monitoring and pooling.

Can I share data across hundreds of SIM cards?

Yes. With a data pool you buy one volume that all cards consume together. A tracker that sits still uses almost nothing, a camera uses a lot, and together they stay within the same pool.

Do the cards work on multiple networks?

The multi-operator cards switch between networks when the first one drops. That is the choice for alarms, payment terminals and devices in difficult locations.

How do you prevent bill shock from a device that runs wild?

Every card gets monitoring and a usage cap. If a device is faulty or stuck in a firmware loop, the card stops at the cap instead of continuing to run up costs.

Can I block or replace a faulty card myself?

You report the card to your dedicated contact, we block it and send a replacement card with the same profile. The pool's data volume stays unchanged.

Do you support eSIM for devices?

Yes, for devices with an eSIM slot we load a profile remotely without shipping. Useful for equipment already in the field or manufactured abroad.
