Short answer
Choose an eSIM when the device supports it and the line needs to be active quickly: you get a QR code and activate the same day, with no shipping. Choose a physical SIM card for older devices, routers, trackers, machines and devices that get passed between employees. With Netcom Mobile, an eSIM on the Proximus network costs 3.50 euro and a physical SIM card 8.90 euro, both excl. VAT. On the Telenet network, we currently work with physical SIM cards only.
Price and delivery
On the Proximus network, an eSIM costs 3.50 euro and is active the same day. A physical SIM card costs 8.90 euro and is delivered by post. On the Telenet network we work exclusively with physical cards at 8.90 euro.
Devices and compatibility
Check this before you convert a whole fleet at once.
- iPhone from iOS 17, iPad from iPadOS 16 and most Android devices from Android 10.
- Older work phones, rugged devices and many routers or machines only support a physical card.
- If a device is lost, an eSIM can be rolled out to a replacement device more quickly.
Travel and a second profile
For work outside Europe, load a travel eSIM alongside your regular line. Turn off data roaming on the primary SIM, and on iPhone also disable automatic switching of data between SIMs, so the device doesn't fall back on your home line.
Our advice per profile
Office and management profiles with recent smartphones go on eSIM by default. Field teams with rugged devices, machines and routers stay on a physical card.
